Alas de Fe Bible Institute
About Alas de Fe:
Located on 17 acres in La Esperanza, Intibuca is the Mission’s Bible Institute, Alas de Fe. Through the Institute, students receive 3 years of seminary training to prepare them to bring the Gospel of Christ to villages throughout Honduras. The campus includes classrooms, dormitories and meeting spaces, and missionary housing for the professors, staff and full-time missionaries.
Under Construction:
As of Fall 2022, construction is underway to add a church, and a medical/dental clinic.
The church will provide worship space for Institute students, missionaries and staff, as well as the local community. The medical/dental clinic — as with the similar clinic in El Plan — will provide free medical care to the community, and will be staffed by missionary team from the US.
Construction on both is due to complete in 2023, and is fully funded through donations to the HBDM.
Alas de Fe History:
In 1990 Bible Institute Alas de Fe was founded by Missionaries Herb & Joan Prince in El Tomate, Fransico Morazon, Honduras. From the beginning, they have been associated with the Church of Central America, but today we accept students from all denominations. In 2000, the institute moved to La Esperanza, Intibuca, where it remains today.
In 2020, Joan Prince retired, and the Lord made a way for the Honduras Baptist Dental Mission to assume control of the property and seminary. Since that time, HBDM has created a medical and dental clinic to serve the local community, and in 2023 we will have a larger, free standing medical dental clinic and church on the property.
The Bible Institute has grown to a student body of 18-25 students at various stages of their 3-year seminary diploma.

Alas de Fe - Bible Institute Student Life
Bible Institute Student Life
Our student's attend classes at Alas de Fe Monday through Friday, 7:00am-7:00pm. Our students live on-campus in the Institute dormitories, and dine in the cafeteria with students and staff.
Student Weekends
On Friday's, students are released at noon, at which time most travel in pairs to villages all over Honduras to assist local churches. There, the students engage in preaching, teaching children, and leading discipleship classes. They are housed and fed by the pastor, or another member of the church.
Students will return to the same location each weekend for the entire 6-week term, and may return back again to the same village in future terms (depending on need).
